New rug cleaning solutions and tools that every Rug Pro should have in their plant:

For natural fiber rugs and fabrics:

=> Natural Fiber Cleanerthis is a great cleaning solution that is on the ACID side, which is ideal for natural fibers with acid dyes. It helps stabilize the dyes during cleaning, and you no longer require an acid rinse step – so it saves you time and supplies. Especially with “bleeders” (ones that CAN be stabilized…) the combo of this with the Dye Stabilizer creates a safe cleaning environment for natural fiber textiles. (Review the Rug Cleaning Checklist I provided up above for cleaning steps.)

=> Dye Stabilizer & Rinse - this has the power of acetic acid, without the smell of vinegar. This is a fantastic dye stabilizing solution for natural fiber rugs during the cleaning process in-plant or on-location (which as you know, cleaning rugs on-location is NOT the recommended way to do it – and can cause more harm than good, but for those of you who insist, this product can help you).

Plus this product has THREE more great uses. It can help alleviate browning, and reverse browning of wool or cotton. It is an EXCELLENT rinsing agent because it has no added surfactants (which most other fiber rinses do have residue). And it is a great way to PRE-TREAT pet urine affected areas prior to cleaning to help release the odor causing elements from the inside of the rug. So one product, FOUR great uses for rugs (and fabrics). Must have – and it’s at a fantastic price.

=> Area Rug Deodorizer - If you are handling rugs affected by flood waters, this is the product to help remove the contaminants and the odor-causing elements that can create problems for rugs in floods. This deodorizes AND cleans at the same time, so it saves the step of sanitizing and then cleaning.

=> Upholstery Pro - I just LOVE this tool! It is made for upholstery cleaning, but it is a fantastic addition to any rug cleaning operation, here’s why. If you need to work on one specific area for stain removal, you can control the moisture (and heat if needed) without having to get the entire rug wet again. Also, the design is so smooth that it leaves no marks on the most fragile of furnishings (like microfiber) but also is equally gentle – yet thorough – on cleaning silk and rayon rugs when a full bath wash is not possible due to structural or dye stability concerns. We all know what a disaster a rayon (or viscose) rug can be, and how difficult those inferior products are to clean – so this tool helps you handle even those dangerous rugs very well.

=> Water Claw - This is a must-have tool for pet urine decontamination. When you pre-treat urine affected areas to help release the urine salts from inside the rug’s foundation fibers, the Water Claw helps flush and extract that contamination away from the middle of the rug. Instead of soaking the entire rug and moving the urine all over the textile, this tool allows you to remove the majority of the urine one area at a time, and allows you to them wash the rug with much better results.
